Neighborhood

The area around your stay is pure Pennsylvania countryside—quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. Stalker Hill Road is a scenic, winding stretch with rolling hills, open fields, and dense woodlands that change beautifully with the seasons. You’ll likely spot deer, wild turkeys, and maybe even a black bear if you're lucky. The neighborhood is made up of friendly locals, mostly long-time residents who appreciate the slower pace of life. It’s a safe, rural setting where the biggest sounds you’ll hear at night are crickets and the occasional owl. Just down the road, you’ll find Stalker Hill Farm, a charming spot with fresh produce in season, and the nearby Stillwater Dam offers a great place for fishing or a peaceful walk by the water. If you’re looking for a true escape from city life, this is the perfect place to unplug and soak up the fresh air.

Cute, quaint, cozy, fantastic place to reconnect, relax, unwind from the busy normal environment. This place made me feel rejuvenated and refreshed. It was mine and my boyfriend 3rd anniversary of being together. He works so much and I just wanted to surprise him and show him some token of how appreciated he is. This venue definitely exceeded that. We look forward to coming other seasons, learning and exploring what the other cabins and other outdoor adventures have to offer. Thank you Bob and Lisa for sharing your story and renovating this to bring peace, tranquility, solitude, and a little slice of joy to a beautiful part of the world!

We loved staying in this quaint place on our egg to the Finger Lakes. We arrived later at night so did not have time to explore the local places nearby but did enjoy a fire!! Would stay again!!

Our recent stay at this Airbnb cabin was exactly what we were hoping for. The relaxing vibe made it a perfect getaway not just for my wife and me but also for our dog. The cabin itself appears recently updated—it looks new, clean, and is thoughtfully designed throughout. One of the highlights was the balcony, which offered a beautiful view and became our favorite spot to unwind. We truly enjoyed our experience here and will definitely be back for another visit.

We came with our two kids for two night mid week in September and stayed in the Ace cabin. It was so so lovely and peaceful and we were all very sad to leave! We are definitely saving this as our go to getaway place. Very good vibes. A perfect combination of being super laid back and welcoming but also very clean and tidy.

Getting around here is pretty straightforward, but you'll definitely want a car. This is classic rural Pennsylvania—no buses, no Ubers on demand, just open roads and peaceful drives. Parking is never an issue, whether at the cabin or anywhere in town. If you’re heading into Thompson or nearby towns like Susquehanna or Honesdale, everything is spread out, so plan for a drive. The roads are well-maintained, but if you're visiting in winter, be prepared for some snow-covered backroads. Biking is an option for short trips, but most people stick to their cars. If you're up for a scenic drive, Route 171 will take you through rolling hills and into town, where you’ll find small diners, markets, and the essentials.
